I took the spacer out of my 86 savage and all it did was caugh and spew black smoke. It also fouled the plug within a couple of minutes and died. Being a gluten for punishment i tried this 3 times while adjusting the low speed mixture screw, same results.I would recamend getting a larger main jet. I also took off my mufler and put on a harley 1 3/4 fishtale straightpipe that i had cut haveing it dump at the back of the rear wheel.talk about loud and a big boost in midrange power. I put in a ten inch baffle and it hopefully will save me a ticket. It sounds more powerful than a hog [ it makes a higher pitched wap wap sound ] its runs very powerful to 60 mph and now I have fuel delivery problems above that,it dies. Now i get to mess with the petcock. Take it from a guy who has modified every bike he has owned,stock is a lot less headache...ENJOY
